T.M. LIONS DONATE 1060.00 EUROS TO BOMBEROS VOLUNTARIOS DE BENITACHELL
At this time of year in particular, those of us who live here in the Marina Alta have good reason to be grateful to the various groups of Bomberos Voluntarios throughout the Costa Blanca who tackle the many brush and forest fires which break out during the heat of the very dry summer months. This is hot, difficult and often dangerous work as flames can leap across the tinder-dry undergrowth at frightening …speed.
When, therefore, the local Bomberos Voluntarios in Benitachell asked if we could possibly help with the cost of much-needed new hoses, we arranged for four such hoses, with relevant connectors, to be purchased at once and delivered in time for the onset of the (really) hot weather.
After all, when you’re a big, brawny fireman, the last thing you want is a floppy hose that dribbles at inappropriate times……….
