The Teulada Moraira Lions celebrated the handover to their new president Janet Dane. Janet has been a member of the lions for over 9 years, she has worked in the Moraira’s Lions charity shop “The Den” as a day manager for the past 8 years, and was previous president, so she is in the perfect position to continue the high standards and achievements set by the outgoing president Philip Butterworth.
Janet thanked Philip for his presidency, and acknowledged what a great honour and responsibility it was for her to continue to bring a sensitive and unifying approach to her role over the next 12 months, both towards new projects, whilst actively to increase membership.
Janet has lived in Moraira for over 25 years, originally from Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, she has a son and daughter, a university education and a profession as a librarian.
In a world where small acts of kindness can spark significant change, the Lions organisation stands as a global force dedicated to service, these goals of uniting People passionate about making a difference in their community, embodies Janet’s spirit, tirelessly supporting causes close to home through fundraising, volunteer work and through the well loved charity shop known as “The Den”.
As always the Teulada Moraira Lions are always looking for dedicated volunteers either to become members of the Lions group or to help out in the charity shop.
