On Thursday 19th June, the Teulada Moraira Lions celebrated the handover to their new president Philip Butterworth. Philip has been an active member of the Lions for many years and a previous president, so he is in the perfect position to continue the high standards and achievements set by the outgoing president David Harmer.
Over the past year of his presidency David expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve and acknowledged the support received from all members of the club, highlighting the clubs achievements and challenges faced, which this particular year have been many and varied. David expressed his hopes for the future and thanked those who had contributed to his success during his presidency, in particular Janet , social Secretary and Nico , finance! He reassured Philip of his ongoing support, respect and confidence.
Philip thanked David for his tireless efforts and deep commitment to the Lions, and acknowledged what a great honour and responsibility it was and he would continue to bring a sensitive approach to serving the local community, but emphasising that he will have his own style. Philip acknowledged the first class teamwork of the Teulada Moraira Lions and how he is looking forward to continued and ongoing success.
Mary Heaviland is to become Philips new vice President, and is looking forward to her new enhanced role heading up an expanded fundraising committee so that the Lions can continue to support and help people within our community.
