In Spain, International Women’s Day is marked as a dynamic and meaningful public occasion. At a local level, the spirit of International Women’s Day was embraced with enthusiasm at Cap d’Or school in Moraira. Working closely with the school, the Teulada Moraira Lions Club once again demonstrated their commitment to supporting education and community values.

The Lions have provided financial assistance to the school in the past, helping with equipment and funding future projects. This year, they also organised what has now become an annual drawing competition to mark International Women’s Day.
Each child was invited to create a drawing during the school day based on the theme “Women Who Inspire.” The competition encouraged pupils to reflect on the women who make a difference in their lives and in the wider world.
The response from the pupils was remarkable, with over 200 entries submitted. According to the Lions team, the standard was exceptionally high the drawings being described as “fantastic, colourful, creative and very varied,”.
On Friday March 6th an assembly was held to announce the winners. Prizes were presented, and every child who participated received a personalised certificate in recognition of their effort and creativity. The drawing competition has now become an annual collaboration between the Teulada Moraira Lions Club and Cap D’Or School.
