Lions end 2017 on a High Note

The weekend of the 2/3rd December proved to be a busy one for the Teulada–Moraira Lions with two superb events rounding off the year, both of which proved to be great fun and a fitting end to a very successful year.

The now annual event in the church square in Moraira, “A Christmas Cracker”, was a great start to the festive season on Saturday 2nd December and, on a very cold and blustery evening, an enthusiastic group of Lions and revellers gathered together with the English choir and members of the Salvation Army of Denia to enjoy traditional Christmas music, songs, carols, mulled wine and Christmas goodies. All proceeds from this event went to the Salvation Army of Denia to help those less privileged.

Sunday the 3rd of December saw the final concert in this Autumn series promoted by the TM Lions, with Ges Rogers “Union Gap” putting in a stellar performance.  The band were on top form and the show was simply brilliant with great musicianship, witty repartee, and an excellent playlist of some of the classic hits from Union Gap, as well as covers from other famous artists from this iconic era of great music which included the Hollies, Roy Orbison, The Four Seasons, Jigsaw etc.

The audience loved every minute and the band received a standing ovation before being allowed off after 2 encores.

The Teulada–Moraira Lions will kick off the New Year with a bang, starting with the return of the “Desperados” – the best tribute to the Eagles here in Spain – on 28th of January, once again in Espai La Senieta in Moraira.  A show not to be missed!
