The Teulada-Moraira Lions have made an emergency donation of 500 euros to the Franciscan Hospice and Refuge. The refuge’s normal funding streams have been interrupted as a result of the current restrictions and they were desperately short of food, cleaning materials and personal hygiene products. The Lions were pleased to be able to address this urgent need.
The Franciscan Hospice and Refuge is a well established local charity which provides residential and nursing care for around 50 homeless and ill men who have no other means of support. It receives no government funding.
The Lions have also donated 2000 euros for food vouchers to local Social Services departments to be given out to families and individuals currently in need as a result of the restrictions.
