A BIG “THANK YOU” FROM T.M. LIONS TO DIREKT OPTIK, MORAIRA.
When Benitachell Social Services Department approached Teulada Moraira Lions to ask if the Club could assist with the cost of special spectacle lenses, needed to correct a particularly difficult problem with the vision of a young child in the village, the answer was an immediate “Yes”. Social Services had already been in touch with a number of opticians in Javea and had obtained quotations of between 300 euros and 350 euros for the lenses in question but Lion Mike Dunn, the Club’s Liaison Officer for Benitachell, had a word with Robin O’Toole of Direkt Optik, Opticians, in Moraira, to see whether he could better these figures. Robin certainly could – he offered to make up a pair of lenses to the required prescription free of charge!
The work was carried out in short order by Direkt Optik and spectacles, incorporating the new lenses, have now been delivered and are making such a difference to a young life. Thereafter, on 21st January, Lion President, David Platt and Lion Mike Dunn called in at Direkt Optik to say a big “Thank you” to Robin and his team and to present them with a Certificate of Appreciation from Teulada Moraira Lions in recognition of this splendid act of generosity. Step forward guys and take a bow – you deserve it!
